Annual Science Fair

The Cunha Science Fair is held annually in January in the school gym. The public is invited to view the great projects and awards ceremony. This is a great opportunity for future 8th graders to view some great projects and see how it is done.

Description
All eighth graders are required to submit a project using the scientific method as a component of their science grade. Facets of a project include the question or problem, hypothesis, methodology, independent, dependent and control variables. The Science Fair project requires students to complete a long-term, involved research project. Students have the opportunity to discover real-life applications of scientific theories or problems and pursue projects reflective of their interests or hobbies.

Science Fair Awards
When it comes to science, Cunha Intermediate School has proven it can compete with any school. For subjects, winners, and news articles in the past years, click the links for each academic year (left menu). All first and second places go to the San Mateo County Fair.
